Celebrating public art in London

  • Culture, Design, Destination

I love London because you never know when you’ll stumble across a piece of art that transforms every day into something extraordinary and often, it’s completely free. Just turning a corner can reveal something new and unexpected.

We’ve just moved into our new office on Liverpool Street and the view from our window is nothing short of spectacular. Right outside, Yayoi Kusama’s unmistakable silver dots shimmer across Infinite Accumulation, her first-ever permanent public art installation. Towering over 10 meters high and stretching 100 meters in length, the piece is a daily delight. When the sun hits it, the glistening dots reflect the city and your own reflection right back at you.

One of my other favourite public art projects we helped promote was for Westminster City Council: the vibrant and groundbreaking work of Lakwena. We had the pleasure of supporting her Back in the Air mosaic floor installation at Temple Roof Garden. Since then, I’ve followed her career closely, admiring her striking staircase at Christie’s and her stunning piece at Somerset House.

We’ve also worked with the artists Heywood and Condie, who created Shimmer 3 at the Water Gardens on the Hyde Park Estate. This captivating series of 12 jewel-encrusted floating sculptures takes inspiration from freshwater microorganisms and unicellular algae, delicate forms brought to shimmering life.

Continuing the theme of water, we were proud to bring Nature Rising to life at Canary Wharf. This immersive installation featured 8-foot-tall moss figures that appeared to walk on water at Eden Dock, bringing imagination and nature together in the heart of the city.

Another standout for me was Herd of Hope at Spitalfields, a majestic family of 21 life-sized bronze elephants on a symbolic journey. Being able to walk among them offered a powerful sense of their grace and scale.

Public art is more than just a visual enhancement, it invites us to pause, reflect, and see our surroundings through a new lens. London is endlessly surprising and there’s always something new to discover.
