My 2024 Beauty Trend Predictions

  • Insights

As we near the end of the year, the anticipation builds as trade and consumer magazines reveal the top 2024 Beauty Trends. This happens to be my most awaited time of the year, and I’m excited to partake in the excitement by forecasting beauty trends for 2024.

Being both a beauty enthusiast and a PR professional, I’ll provide insights from a dual perspective—considering both consumer and PR viewpoints. Additionally, I’ll share a few product selections to ensure you stay ahead of the upcoming trends. Get ready for a glimpse into the 2024 Beauty Trends below.

 1. Glossy Tinted Lip Balms

The desire for the shine of a gloss and the hydration of a balm has surged, especially inspired by figures like Miss Bieber and Summer Friday. I anticipate more brands riding this wave, creating glossy tinted lip balms in shades that complement every skin tone and undertone, perfect for achieving those no-makeup makeup looks. Pair it with your favourite lip liner to add dimension to your lip combo.

Too Faced – Hangover Pillow Balm Ultra-Hydrating Lip Balm – £20

Hourglass via Liberty – Phantom Volumising Glossy Balm Duo – £40

2. Mindset Makeup Trends

Imagine creating a makeup look inspired by a Pinterest board aesthetic. We’ve seen it this year with trends like the latte/espresso and strawberry girl looks this year.

3. Better than Bare

Some of us love a minimal makeup look and some of us want to feel like we aren’t wearing anything without lacking in coverage. Expect a surge in formulas providing coverage without compromising on lightweight texture and finish, exemplified by products like the MAC Radiance Serum Powered Foundation.

MAC Cosmetics – Studio Radiance Serum-Powered™  Foundation -£39

4. Ombre and Bold Blushes

Blush came back this year and it’s here to stay. It’s now available in so many different formulas from liquids, balms, creams and the traditional powder. Ombre blushes, is a technique from applying a lighter colour by your cheekbones and diffusing into a darker hue towards the apples of your cheeks. It’s been gaining popularity on TikTok and adds dimension to makeup looks. (I am a big fan of this trend and love doing it when I am going full glam).

SUQQU via Liberty – Pure Colour Blush – £32.40

5. Red Makeup

Following its dominance in the fashion space, red is making a comeback in beauty. Dust off your Ruby Woo lipsticks and invest in pigmented red eyeliners, as pops of red will be everywhere in 2024.

MAC Cosmetics – Retro Matte Lipstick – £23

MAC Cosmetics – Chromagraphic Pencil – £23

6. Bodycare Routines

Bodycare took over key social media channels including Instagram, X, and TikTok feeds, and the trend will continue. Expect a surge in creating a glowy body for a night out, incorporating glitter body oils for a sun-kissed glow (Nuxe Body Oil is a great choice). Also, maximize your perfume longevity by matching notes in your perfumes to the shower gel, body lotion, and body oil you use.

Nécessaire – The Body Oil Fragrance-Free 100ml – £20

DR Sebagh – Shimmering Body Oil 50ml – £49.50

7. Second Skin Scents

As a self-proclaimed perfume expert, due to the popularity of Glossier’s You and the OG Escentric Molecules 01 there has been an increased desire for more intimate scents that pair with the natural pheromones of your skin.

Another 13 – eau de parfum – £230

Eccentric Molecules – Molecule 01 Eau de Toilette 100ml – £85.50
