90s Sheer

The sheer look was a signature statement of the ’90s, with Kate Moss’s iconic look in 1993 contributing to the widespread attraction of sheer. In a recent article following Paris Fashion Week, Vogue listed Rosetta Getty’s ‘nylon blend midi sheer skirt’ as one of their ‘top 10 street style standouts’, highlighting the return in the popularity of sheer, as well as its significance as a wardrobe staple. The 2024 Met Gala saw famous figures such as Elle Fanning and Jennifer Lopez dressed in sheer attire. Actress Elle Fanning was styled in a sheer silhouette Balmain dress whilst J-Lo opted for an embellished sheer Schiaparelli gown. Both looks were considered fan favourites of the gala this year, emphasising the undoubtable popularity of sheer looks in 2024.

00s Graphic Tees

In the early 00s, Paris Hilton wore the infamous ‘Stop being desperate’ top. Commonly mistaken for having said ‘stop being poor’, the look caused controversy, yet remains an iconic fashion statement of the 00s. The graphic tee remained popular attire throughout the 00s, with many famous faces such as Britney Spears and Hilary Duff spotted with slogans plastered across their tops such as ‘I am the American dream’ and ‘I love punk’. Luca Guadagnino’s sport/romance hit ‘Challengers’ saw great success this year, with actress Zendaya in the film’s spotlight. The ‘I Told Ya’ graphic tee worn by Zendaya has become a graphic staple and wardrobe must-have this year, leaving fans seeking to purchase similar. Luxury fashion house Loewe has released a range of special edition T-shirts and sweatshirts with the slogan on, making the same look available yet they come at a price, with the graphic tees retailing at £225 a piece.
